Karen Stowe's Suzuki Violinists

Karen Stowe's Suzuki Violinists performed for the William and Mary Alumni Association, South of the James Chapter. Karen gave a short presentation on the Suzuki Method and her students performed, on February 27, 2010. Congratulations on a fantastic job.

Isabella Lewis

Isabella Lewis, student of Gail Auberg, recently won the Concerto Competition for the junior division of the Peninsula Youth Orchestra and will perform with the orchestra as a soloist on their May 16, 2010 Concert, Orcutt Baptist Church 653 Baxter Lane Newport News, VA 23607 Time: 3:00pm.

Peninsula Youth Orchestra

The Peninsula Youth Orchestra will present a concert on Sunday, March 14, 2010 2:30 pm at Thomas Nelson Community College, Mary Christian Auditorium , 99 Thomas Nelson Drive Hampton, Virginia.

Bay Youth Orchestra

The Bay Youth Orchestra will present a Concerto Concerto with Rebecca Willett (Suzuki violinist) on piano (former student of Suzuki piano teacher Melody Diehl) performing the Grieg Piano Concerto with the Bay Youth Symphony Orchestra. Tuesday March 23, 2010 at the Sandler Center, Virginia Beach. 7:30 pm.

STAHR Italy Tour 2012
We are so excited to announce that STAHR's "Suzuki Strings of Hampton Roads" ensemble is planning a performance tour of Italy in June 2012.

We will visit the cities of Rome, Siena, Florence, Cremona, Venice, Verona and Milan during the 10 day/8 night adventure. For more information click here STAHR Italy Tour 2012

Violin Book Revisions
We will be adopting the SAA recommendations for integrating the changes to the violin volumes books 1-4 beginning January 2009.

Teachers/Parents need to check the SAA website or journal for clarification so their students are prepared when they attend STAHR events.

The Academy of Music
The Academy's Violin Group Classes are open to the local Suzuki community. We offer classes on Thursday evenings at levels from Pre-Twinkle and Twinklers/Early Book 1 (including Parent Education) through Book 5.

We are located on Colonial Avenue in the Ghent section of Norfolk.
